Manchester United have been handed an injury boost ahead of this weekend’s clash against Norwich City, with the news that defender Axel Tuanzebe should be fit enough to play against the Canaries, via The Sun.
The 21-year-old was due to start last weekend’s game against Liverpool, but pulled up with a hip injury during the warm-up at Old Trafford and was replaced by Marcos Rojo.
Tuanzebe was rested for tonight’s fixture against Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League, but will be in contention to start against the Canaries at Carrow Road.
Prior to Sunday’s draw with Liverpool, the England Under-21 international had starred for the full 90 against Newcastle United and Arsenal in the Premier League, alongside lining up against Rochdale in the EFL Cup and Astana in the Europa League (via Transfermarkt).
It looks as though Tuanzebe is steadily becoming a firm favourite in defence for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – shown by his recent inclusions in the starting XI – which does suggest that he will return to the fold for Sunday’s game against Daniel Farke’s league strugglers.
United will be looking to build on their recent draw against the Reds with a solid display this weekend. The Red Devils came close to clinching all three points on Sunday, but were undone by a late goal scored by substitute Adam Lallana.
Having Tuanzebe back will certainly be a boost for United, who will now be full of momentum following a positive performance against Liverpool last weekend.
The 21-year-old looks to be a real prospect this season, but needs consistent game-time to really kick on at Old Trafford; hopefully, he is able to jump straight back into the starting line-up on Sunday.
