Manchester United supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern were pleased to see their side get back to winning ways yesterday.
A penalty from Robin van Persie and a stunning volley from Wayne Rooney ensured they left Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park home with all three points.
The Red Devils fans in the bar have been interested with the latest news coming into the tavern as Paul Hetherington from Daily Star claims that United believe they have won the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder IIkay Gundogan.
The 23-year-old German international is very highly rated by punters in the tavern after some excellent performances for BVB during their run to the Champions League final last term.
However the playmaker has missed the majority of the season so far and he would have to prove his fitness to remain on David Moyes’ radar.
Real Madrid are also thought to be looking at Gundogan, who is likely to sold in the summer with only one year remaining on his current deal with Jurgen Klopp’s side.
United could gain an advantage on the La Liga outfit by including attacking midfielder Shinji Kawaga as part of the deal, with Dortmund thought to want a reunion with their former Japanese international.
