Manchester United boss finds match winning solution!

When Sir Alex Ferguson announced he was stepping down at Manchester United and ‘going upstairs’, we in the Football Transfer Tavern thought that David Moyes was a good replacement. After all he was the ‘Chosen One’.

Now after the transfer window has closed, we are reconsidering. As we go to put our massive projector screen back in the loft until the January transfer window opens, one of our punters wonders if that will not be the only thing coming back downstairs after Christmas!

Given the rather shaky start to the season by David Moyes, drawing against a Chelsea side that has nothing up top – literally, and dropping three points against bitter rivals Liverpool, fans are now starting to wonder if Moyes should be the ‘Chosen One’ after all.

Bringing in Marouane Fellaini, and only Marouane Fellaini during the window has not exactly helped matters and now Moyes has been left casting around for other match-winning options.

As we saw during the game against Liverpool with the five minutes of ‘Fergie time’, the ex-gaffers influence still lingers on at the club, and it comes as no shock that rather than having a laugh at one of our pictures of the day, we are wondering if Moyes will now resort to those dirty tactics following a summer that can only be described as a disaster in the transfer market!

When spending big money on players such as Mesut Ozil and Leighton Baines failed him, Moyes was left with a rather sizeable transfer kitty, and quite what he plans on doing with said kitty remains to be seen.

As we can see from today’s viral, Moyes, like all top managers, is willing to ask his staff for advice, and given they are the legends from Fergie’s time at the club, they are all too familiar with the Scots methods.

It is Phil Neville who comes up with a golden suggestion here – perhaps Moyes could text Fergie and ask for Howard Webb’s number!

Given the lack of strength and depth in the squad, it could well be time to up the direct debit payments to certain referees, and let’s face it, they have plenty of dosh left over to do so!

Okay. Let’s get straight to it. Will David Moyes last the season at Old Trafford? Let us know your thoughts below.
