Manchester United boss to revisit transfer swoop in January?

herrera.jpgThe transfer excitement rarely ceases for Manchester United supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern.

And now Mark Ogden from The Telegraph has arrived to claim that Moyes will revive his interest in Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera and will have scouts watching him this weeekend.

United supporters were left crying into their pints on deadline day earlier this month when Moyes failed to complete the deal despite speculation it was almost over the line.

It is thought that United were unwilling to meet the £30.5 million release clause while the complex nature of the 24-year-old’s contract was also a sticking point.

There was reportedly also concerns over whether the Spaniard could become a first team regular at Old Trafford and the Red Devils will look to make a verdict when scouts will be watching him against Granada next week.

Herrera featured for Bilbao during their 2-1 victory over Real Betis last night and the game was broadcast in the bar on our new 50-inch plasma. However the attacking midfielder spurned two excellent chances during the match and United fans were not hugely impressed as they enjoyed another evening in our company.

Moyes had a frustrating summer in the transfer window adding only Marouane Fellaini to his squad and he admitted earlier this week that he wanted two top quality signings to improve the outlook after a disappointing start to the new campaign.

As one of our loyal customers points out before ordering his next round of drinks, Herrera could be followed by Leighton Baines to Old Trafford as Moyes tries yet again to sign the England international left back when the transfer window re-opens in the New Year.
