Manchester United boss wants Championship youngster to bolster English player quota

The Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are already excited for next season with new boss Jose Mourinho expecting a glut of new faces to arrive at Old Trafford in time for the season’s curtain raiser.

The ardent group of supporters here in the Tavern are a likable bunch and speculation as to which player will be through the entrance door next is in full flow.

Our landlord has some pretty exciting news for the United faithful, albeit surprising, after The Sun confirmed that the Red Devils were keen to bolster their home grown quota with a move for Derby County youngster Will Hughes.

The 21-year-old played little football last season due to a serious knee injury which he picked up on the opening day, although he has made over 120 appearances for the Rams despite his tender years.

The Red Devils faithful are excited at this news, with one in particular relishing the prospect of United securing some younger players, ahead of their best years in the game.

One Manchester United fanatic is sat in the smoking area puffing away on a cigarette and he hopes that the Portuguese boss will utilise the club’s youngsters next year, stating that Will Hughes would fit into the ethos at Old Trafford.
