Manchester United bound striker told by current captain that move to Premier League would be step down

ZlatanThe Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern have already cast an intriguing eye towards next season after a largely disappointing league campaign.

United have been linked with several high profile names this summer, one of which is global superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the Red Devils contingent here in the Tavern are buzzing at the concept of his arrival.

The landlord has spotted some astonishing news in The Mirror, with Zlatan’s current captain Thiago Silva claiming that a move to the Premier League would be a step down from Ligue 1.

Ibrahimovic has been linked to Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool previously but now the Brazilian has told the Swede that a move to the Premier League would be a ‘step down’ and that the striker should reconsider his contract stance.

One United fan is sat waiting for the weekly pool knockout to begin and he thinks that Silva must have spent too long getting drunk in the Tavern, if he genuinely believes that Ligue 1 is a better division than the Premier League.

Manchester United fans, what do you make to this news? Are you hopeful that Ibrahimovic will still sign for the club in the summer?
