Talk about drama here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by the Daily Express that they think Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney is about to be subject to massive bid by Paris Saint-Germain.
The forward has been linked with a move away from the club and despite some backtracking on behalf of Rooney and indeed David Moyes claiming that he wants the club to keep the player despite their previous troubles, it did seem that Rooney could well be set to stay at Old Trafford.
Add that to the fact no club Rooney would really consider moving to showed that much interest in him and it seemed he would be remaining in England a while longer.
Now PSG are set to make a mega bid for the forward – and hope that it will be one too good for United to be able to turn down. Not only this but the player himself would be paid an eye watering £300,000 after tax per week – meaning that not only would United have to consider a huge offer long and hard but also the player himself may find those wages too good to refuse.
United are already facing a fight to keep Javier Hernandez and given Danny Welbeck’s somewhat poor season, the club may well want to keep hold of Rooney and see how he plays under Moyes who of course did get some brilliant performances out of him during his spell at Everton.
