Our landlord opens up his copy of Metro and fills us in on their latest offering.
One of our favourite publications seems to think that the club could well be closing in on one of their long-term transfer targets.
It is fair enough for our punters to roll their eyes at this point, given the state of the club since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes’ takeover, yet it is their board and Ed Woodward who have really caused this reaction.
In the summer, player after player was linked to the club, with each being either missed out on or simply given up on altogether.
When the punters realise that the player we are talking about is Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay, they make it crystal clear that the club simply have to sign him.
The likes of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are clearly on their way out – if not the club as it has been heavily rumoured – then at least the first team.
To top the table both at home and in Europe, the Red Devils need some new blood and Argentine international Garay is the man according to the tavern regulars.
Will Moyes land the £8 million rated Rio replacement target? Let us know your thoughts below.
