Today’s copy of The Metro has been left on the bar with the papers suggesting that West Ham star Ravel Morrison could be heading back to Manchester United in the transfer window.
It was reported yesterday in the tavern that the 20-year-old midfielder could leave Upton Park due to stunning clause in his contract. An offer over £10million would see a significant increase in his salary, something that Sam Allardyce’s side cannot afford due to their uncertain position in the Premier League.
That could instead see Morrison being sold to the highest bidder with the England U-21 international with interest mounting from a host of Premier League clubs, including his former side at Old Trafford.
Morrison was brought by West Ham for £650,00 and the club pay an extra £250,000 everytime he makes an appearance for the team and with just 18 months left on his deal that could see him sold in the next few weeks.
Any money the Iron can make from Morrison could be used to fund Allardyce’s spending spree as he looks to pull his side away from the dreaded drop zone. Everton pair Nikica Jelavic and Johnny Heitinga are reportedly both close to an Upton Park switch and the double swoop could be funded by allowing Ravel to return to United.
