Bad news seems to be the name of the game for Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern, and Metro carry even more of it.
The publication notes that Manchester United are set to be snubbed by two more of their transfer targets for January – Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani and AC Milan’s Crisitan Zapata.
It has become clear that Robin van Persie and David Moyes do not exactly see eye to eye, and that of course has cast major doubt on the future of RVP at Old Trafford.
If Moyes wants to assert his authority, getting rid could be the way forward. That has of course led to links with other forwards, one of whom has been Cavani.
The former Napoli man is said to be unhappy in Ligue 1 and the possibility of a move has been whispered. Now the Colombian forward’s agent has dismissed this, and claimed: “There is nothing that is brewing. He remains in Paris.
“He’s fine. Napoli was a nice chapter, like the one in Palermo, but he goes on always trying to improve as a player and his experience. Paris is an important moment for him.”
When you add to this the fact that defender Zapata has also put to bed the possibility of a move as well, things do not exactly look like getting much better at Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old defender claimed: “No, I do not know anything. I just think about Milan. I have a contract until 2016 and I want to stay here.”
Just who will Moyes turn to now as January edges ever closer? Let us know your thoughts below.
