Manchester United fans here inside the Football Transfer Tavern feel somewhat downbeat after the landlord showed them an article from the Daily Mail, which claims that PSG forward Edinson Cavani has ruled out a move away from the club.
It is no secret here in the Tavern that Cavani is a player that is wanted by Louis van Gaal’s side, but their hopes of landing him now look set to be quashed.
‘There is too much talk about my future but I will remain here,’ Cavani told Sky Italia after their Champions League defeat to Barcelona.
‘I will respect my contract and I’m only focusing on doing well for PSG.’
The 28-year-old striker is renowned for his prolific abilities, and arguably his best record came at former club Napoli, where he scored 78 goals from 104 appearances.
A large group of Manchester United fans here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are all pretty gutted about the news, with most of them wanting to see Cavani spearhead a new look United frontline next season.
However, a minority of United fans over by the pool table feel that he could turn out to be another Falcao and subsequently turn into a flop!
