Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are disappointed to hear that the possibility of a swap deal for their goalkeeper is now over after the Daily Mirror revealed that Gareth Bale is set to stay Real Madrid following crunch talks yesterday.
There has been a lot of speculation flowing through the Tavern recently suggesting that there would be a swap deal between the Welshman and David De Gea.
But now it seems as though Los Blancos will have to lure the Spaniard in with a straight money bid.
Bale’s representatives flew to Madrid to discuss their clients future with people thinking that his critics may have forced him out of La Liga.
But it seems as though despite the heavy scrutiny he is under, he will be around next season, to prove his doubters wrong.
Madrid are as keen as Bale to make it work out next season because they are not ready to take a loss on former Tottenham star’s £85m record fee.
