Everton and West Brom fans in the Football Transfer Tavern admit they have grown sick and tired of all the speculation linking their star men with moves to rival clubs.
John Stones to Chelsea and Saido Berahino to Tottenham have been two of the summers longest running transfer sagas, so it’s a welcome change to hear the Daily Star report a way in which both clubs might spend some of the money they look set to receive in the coming days.
Both have identified Manchester United outcast Jonny Evans as a transfer target, with the Northern Ireland international having entered the final 12 months of his contract at Old Trafford.
Louis van Gaal does not see him as a part of his first team plans for the season, and has told Evans he can leave as long as the asking price of £12million is met.
Both Everton and the Baggies had been hopeful of landing Evans for around £8million. But with less than a week of the transfer window remaining, there is every chance they will sign the 27-year-old for less!
