Radamel Falcao to Manchester United stories have been doing the rounds again in the Football Transfer Tavern, although Adam Marshall of ManUtd.com has revealed Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed the rumour.
Spanish newspaper Marca broke the story last week, meaning the English press duly followed suit.
Falcao has once again been one of the best strikers in Europe for Atletico Madrid this season, and has also been attracting strong interest from Chelsea and Manchester City.
The fee he would demand is believed to be in excess of £50million.
The stories have in turn led to speculation regarding the futures of United duo Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez.
But Sir Alex was quick to pour cold water on the story, asking the Sunday press
“Do you honestly believe that? Really? It does amaze me that you come up with that one.”
Colombian international Falcao has been attracting attention from Europe’s top clubs for some time, having first made his name with Porto having arrived from Argentinian club River Plate.
He has often stated how happy he is with life at the Vicente Calderon, but there is no doubt going to be plenty of bids for his services made this summer, however not by Manchester United it seems.
Is this where Manchester United’s supposed interest in Falcao ends? Let us know your thoughts below.
