In sensational news as reported by The Mirror, the publication claims that Manchester United are set to test Tottenham’s resolve and enter the race to land outstanding PFA Player of the Year Gareth Bale.
It has long been reported that Real Madrid represents the next stop off point in Bale’s aspiring career but Red Devils fans could be receiving the next Ryan Giggs if they managed to pull off another swoop that would rock the football world in Robin van Persie-like fashion.
The Red Devils believe Bale might be tempted to stay in England but Andre Villas-Boas has recently reiterated that his star man will not be sold regardless of whether the Lilywhites finish in the Champions League qualification places or not.
Bale is reportedly valued at £60 million by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and with Sir Alex Ferguson receiving assurances from the Glazers that he will be backed in the transfer market this summer, perhaps the Red Devils would be willing to spend such a lavish fee on an outstanding talent.
If or perhaps more appropriately when Tottenham rebuff a United approach, the Red Devils are set to offer the likes of wantaway duo Anderson and Nani to Spurs in a bid to broker a deal.
