Manchester United fans are looking up with interested faces here, as Louis van Gaal is potentially lining up Aaron Cresswell as a replacement for the injured Luke Shaw, as reported by the Guardian.
The England left-back suffered a horrendous broken leg in last week’s Champions league match with PSV, and is likely to be out for the rest of the season. Something our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are bemoaning!
However, the blow could be softened with the news that a potential replacement could be on his way in January.
Cresswell joined the Hammers from Ipswich in a deal worth £3.75 million – and he quickly established himself as a starter for the West London club, as he played in every Premier League game last campaign.
The attacking full-back has shown himself to be one of the best in his position over the last year and has been a part of West Ham’s great start to the season already assisting two goals this season.
It is believed United will make a £15m bid for his services in January, and hope that this will be a big enough sum to make the Upton Park outfit part with the player.
