All eyes in the Football Transfer Tavern this lunchtime were on the Champions League draw as the four Premier League sides found out their fate.
Manchester United supporters raised their pints when Olympiakos were drawn out in one of the favourable ties of the round.
Now the focus is back on the latest transfer speculation as the Daily Star report that Manchester United are hoping to land Inter Milan’s Fredy Guarin by including Javier Hernandez as part of the package.
As is well known in the tavern, David Moyes is eager to capture one creative midfielder in January after failing to sign Cesc Fabregas, Ander Herrera and Thiago Alcantara in the summer with only the disappointing Marouane Fellaini arriving.
United’s season so far has suffered due to a lack of drive and creativity in midfield and United look terribly short in a vital area of the pitch.
Making a move for Guarin could prove the answer and including Hernandez, who is yet to start back-to-back Premier League games under Moyes, as part of the deal could be the sweetener required to see the 27-year-old attacking midfielder arrive at Old Trafford in January.
The San Siro side are seeking more firepower in attack and this possible transfer could make sense for all parties as Hernandez struggles for regular football under Moyes.
Would this proposed deal be a solution for United? Let us know your thoughts below.
