Manchester United facing stiff competition from European giants for 18-year-old wonderkid

West Bromwich Albion v Manchester United - Barclays Premier LeagueThe Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are nursing killer hangovers following yesterday’s 2-1 win over Everton in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

The club are naturally happy to be in a showcase final, although they do concede that the football must be of a better standard next season, with the jury on Louis van Gaal still very much out.

A bigger summer looks to be on the horizon for the Red Devils and several players are set to arrive at Old Trafford once more, as they go in quest of the Premier League title.

One player who had been deemed a certainty to sign for the club a couple of weeks ago was Benfica youngster Renato Sanches, although that might not be the case any longer.

According to The Sunday Times, United now face major competition for the winger from Manchester City and also European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

The news will come as a blow to the Red Devils who did believe they had the player secured and with the other interested clubs able to offer Champions League football, a move now looks as far away as ever.

One United fan is in the Tavern enjoying a Sunday night pint and he thinks this is a sign of things to come as long as United cannot offer Champions League football, stating that Sanches will not be the last to move elsewhere.

Manchester United fans, is this a big blow? What would Sanches offer the club?
