Manchester United fans are looking up with interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by The Peoples Person that the club have seen a 1.5 million euro bid rejected for a young full back.
Guillermo Varela had been on trial at the club towards the end of the season and impressed both the scouts and players with his attitude. So much so, that the Red Devils had tabled a bid for the young player which they have now seen rejected.
David Moyes is aware that he has to move fast to land the highly rated young star and given the fact several other sides are sniffing around the player – including Serie A side Fiorentina that is probably a wise move.
The player himself has set his heart on a move to Old Trafford and after his recent trial stint claimed: “I have trained with the first-team. I am very happy and I was received very well.
“It was a surprise to get the chance to test with Manchester United. I’m glad and happy, and grateful to Penarol who allowed me to travel.
“I was treated so well and Chicharito [Javier Hernandez] helped me a lot. The work outs were short but very demanding.”
Will David Moyes go back with another bid for Varela? Let us know your thoughts below.
