Manchester United fans appear to be glad that their club didn’t end up signing Thomas Meunier this summer having witnessed Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s start to life at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, the Belgian recently spoke about his links to the Red Devils.
Thomas Meunier on #mufc links: “It was an intense period, with a lot of interest and discussion. I could have left [PSG] but it was not done because there was nothing that suited the club or myself. Nothing was 100 per cent for it to work.” #mulive [rtbf]

As per RTBF (via Mirror), 27-year-old Meunier told the French news outlet just how close he was to signing for Manchester United this summer before the Red Devils landed themselves Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Wan-Bissaka has started life at United exactly where he left off at Palace, with the 21-year-old registering by far the most tackles (26) in the Premier League this season (as per BT Sport), and although United have not started as they imagined, the right-back has proved his worth in each game, receiving a 7/10 for his display in the 1-1 draw at St. Mary’s (as per M.E.N).
The Englishman has been arguably Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s best player so far this season, whilst Meunier has played just 80 minutes for PSG this campaign. So, not just does it seem like United have the better deal, it also seems they have a better future at right-back with Meunier six years the elder of AWB.
