Manchester United fans are starting to get excited about a move for Jadon Sancho after comments made by the Borussia Dortmund winger.
The young talent was talking about the different leagues he can see himself play in, and even said that the Premier League was ‘one of the best leagues in the world’ (via BBC Sport).
The England international made the move from Manchester City to Germany last summer and enjoyed a stunning debut season with the club. The 19-year-old scored 13 goals and assisted a further 19 in all competitions (via Transfermarkt).
However, the Red Devils could have signed the star if they qualified for the Champions League. According to BBC’s David Ornstein, a move was ‘nailed on’, but Sancho was reluctant to give up Champions League football.
Fans still hold hope a move can be completed in the future, and the winger’s recent comments seem to have excited the supporters.
Here is a selection of tweets from the Old Trafford faithful:
Sancho: "I can't tell the future but I wouldn't mind (returning to the Premier League). La Liga I wouldn't mind also, but we don't know yet. I feel every league is very competitive. The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world, everyone knows that." #mufc [BBC]
