Manchester United fans showed a ruthless side last night as they expressed their happiness after Jesse Lingard got injured.
Could you see Brendan Rodgers at Manchester United?
The England international was taken off late on in United’s draw away to AZ Alkmaar with an apparent hamstring injury after initially coming on as a substitute for Mason Greenwood.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer allayed any fears over the injury as he confirmed that it ‘wasn’t too serious’.
The Norwegian did, however, say it was unlikely Lingard would play for the club in their Premier League game away to Newcastle United on Sunday (via Man United).
Lingard’s misery was compounded as he was left out of the England squad for the upcoming international games against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria (via The Telegraph).
Fans decided to twist the knife in as they expressed their happiness at the injury Lingard suffered, taking to Twitter to react.
