Manchester United’s below-par start to the 2019/20 Premier League season continued on Monday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Arsenal at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils had taken the lead in the match thanks to a goal from Scott McTominay just before half-time, but the Gunners equalised in the second period when VAR intervened and awarded a goal to striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The result means that it is officially United’s worst start to a season for 30 years, leaving them on just nine points from seven matches and 12 points adrift of leaders Liverpool already.

It has also left many fans questioning the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Norwegian took over on a temporary basis after the dismissal of Jose Mourinho last December and initially impressed, winning 14 of his first 19 matches in charge.

But since being given the job full-time on the back of that start, things have quickly unravelled for the former striker. In the 19 games following him getting the role on a permanent basis, he has led the team to just five wins, with eight losses and six draws also in that time.

That kind of form simply isn’t good enough for a club on Manchester United’s stature, and some fans now want to see the former Molde and Cardiff City manager relieved of his duties. Here is what some of them have been saying…
