Manchester United fans on Twitter want Greenwood in the seniors
Manchester United fans will be gearing themselves up for a huge clash later tonight at the Camp Nou against Barcelona. Last night saw United’s youth side record a 5-0 win away at Newcastle United in Division 2 of the Premier League 2, and as Mason Greenwood curled in a delightful free-kick the fans were wishing he could be with the seniors in Spain.

Manchester United supporters can be forgiven for wanting someone like Greenwood with their first team. Given some of the passengers who are in Spain with the first team and will likely not play or make any kind of impact, having the likes of Tahith Chong, Greenwood or Angel Gomes really isn’t a bad idea. Having played last night, though, there’s no chance of the youngsters playing any part.
It does seem strange that the Red Devils haven’t taken Greenwood and co with them to Barcelona, especially seeing as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had no hesitation in bringing Greenwood off the bench in Paris when they were chasing the 3rd goal to advance past PSG in the last round. Game time will be the most important thing for the youngsters at this stage in their development, though, and whilst the fans want their young guns in Barcelona, there are no guarantees they’d feature as they did last night.

Manchester United fans have high hopes of Mason Greenwood prospering at Old Trafford and whilst they want him to feature later, he has plenty of years ahead of him to shine.
