Manchester United fans have been praising Jamie Carragher after he made a stark admission over the issue between Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra in 2011.
Carragher admitted that he and his Liverpool teammates made a ‘huge’ mistake in wearing t-shirts supporting the Uruguayan forward (via Sky Sports).
Back in 2011, Suarez was banned by the FA after it was alleged he used a racial slur aimed at Evra.
The incident occurred during a fixture between Liverpool and United at Anfield.
However, Liverpool released a statement expressing their disappointment over the charge back in December 2011, and manager Kenny Dalglish even released a tweet supporting the Uruguay international.
The players subsequently wore shirts supporting Suarez in their Premier League game against Wigan Athletic just a day after the ruling.
Fans took to Twitter to praise the former England international for apologising to Evra live on Sky Sports.
