Manchester United: Fans show outpouring of love following Patrice Evra’s retirement from football

Manchester United fans flocked to Twitter following the news of Old Trafford legend Patrice Evra’s retirement from football.

The now retired full-back joined from Monaco in the summer of 2006 for a fee believed to be around £5.5m.

Evra went on to enjoy a fruitful spell at Manchester United, making more than 350 appearances for the club and winning a total of nine major trophies, including three Premier League titles in a row.

It wasn’t just England where the 38-year-old enjoyed success. Evra later joined Italian side Juventus and went on to reach a Champions League final and win the Serie A title in 2015.

However, he’s called time on his long career, and fans showed their love for the left-back on Twitter.
