Manchester United fans take to Twitter in desperation as they call for summer overhaul

Last night was a pretty dark day for Manchester United. The Red Devils went to the Camp Nou with aspirations of repeating their heroics in Paris but fell flat on their faces as individual mistakes cost them. After the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was realistic as he claimed signings will need to be made, and you can read his comments on the BBC.

The United fans who watched the painful defeat found fault in the performances of Ashley Young and David De Gea, who were at fault for Lionel Messi’s two goals inside the first 20 minutes, but also in a number of other players. Chris Smalling and Phil Jones, as ever, were subpar and it seems that Solskjaer has some serious work on his hands when the summer transfer window opens.

The fact that United need to strengthen is as simple as that, money has to be spent and signings have to be made. However, the fans are calling for more than a few new faces to come in and sort them out. Defensive reinforcements are a must, but without a classic centre-forward who can grab them 20+ goals and remain prolific deep into the latter stages of the Champions League, they’ll never match Solskjaer’s ambitions either.

You can read the Red Devils’ verdict on what needs to happen this summer here:

The Red Devils are all pretty set on what they need this summer and will be desperate for Ed Woodward to deliver and let Solskjaer bring in who he needs.
