Manchester United flop in pole position to join Aston Villa

MoyesPlenty of talk in the Transfer Tavern this afternoon has disgruntled Aston Villa fans shaking their heads with worry.

The Villa faithful are worried that their season is already turning into a bit of a shambles with talk of Tim Sherwood being replaced by Real Sociedad manager David Moyes.

Sherwood has not enjoyed the first eight months of his tenure at Villa Park and after a difficult start to the season there is plenty of pressure on his shoulders, having won only one game in the opening eight this season.

The Times are today reporting that former Everton and Manchester United manager Moyes is the front runner to take over from Sherwood if he is relived of his duties at the Midlands club.

Moyes is currently managing Sociedad in La Liga and led them to a twelfth placed finish last season. He had a difficult time at Manchester United but before then he had a successful eleven year spell at Everton.
