Manchester United forward set for loan exit

Jesse LingardManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have joined Sheffield Wednesday supporters to discuss the talents of one of their youngsters, after it emerged the Championship side look set to secure a loan deal.

ESPN raise the story as they claim Jesse Lingard, who scored in pre-season against Barcelona, is set to move clubs after failing to achieve any first-team football this term under the watchful eye of Louis Van Gaal.

22-year-old Lingard may have felt he had a chance of breaking into the first-team after the departures of Javier Hernandez, Robin Van Persie and Radamel Falcao but the instant impact made by £36m man Anthony Martial has left the youngster hapless.

Lingard has one Premier League appearance to his name as he started Van Gaal’s first league game in charge of United against Swansea City last season, where the Red Devils lost and Lingard’s development was hampered by injury.

United fans at the bar are unsure whether Lingard will ever become a permanent first-team fixture at Old Trafford but believe he will be a stellar addition to Wednesday’s squad, with the Championship side said to be awaiting a response from United after making an approach.

Manchester United fans, would sending Lingard away on-loan once again be a good move? Will he ever become a regular star? Let us know in the comments below!
