Former Real Madrid president Roman Calderon has made an astonishing claim that a deal could already be in place for the Spanish club to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.
The news of these claims has been broke by Talk Sport radio show Sport Breakfast, who had the former Madrid president on as a guest this morning.
Our landlord heard the interview here in the Transfer Tavern whilst he was cleaning the bar from last night’s shenanigans and it is sure to upset the Red Devils faithful who regularly attend the Tavern.
The Spanish keeper has never hid his desire to play for Real Madrid at some point in his career and a deal very nearly came to fruition a couple of years ago.
Calderon believes a deal might already be in place and said: “Apparently there is some sort of agreement. They had a deal from last summer to come in, but I cannot tell you for sure as I don’t have personal knowledge.
One United fan is sat waiting for the pool knockout and he thinks Calderon should stay out of matters that don’t concern him, stating that he is simply trying to add fuel to the fire ahead of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United fans, how important is David de Gea to what the club are trying to achieve?
