The Guardian have Manchester United fans looking up with interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they seem to think David De Gea could be made to see out the final year of his contract.
This is unless they manage to land Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid, and while our punters are a bit worried about United losing the player on a free come this time next season, we think that the club need to start playing hardball and showing that they are not a club who players can just leave when the mood strikes them, no matter who the suitor.
De Gea has made it clear he would like to leave, but we think United are well within their rights to keep him and try to convince him to pen a new deal if they don’t think they are coming out of the potential sale better than Real Madrid would.
Manchester United fans. Do you think making De Gea see out the rest of his contract is a good idea or will it affect his performances? Let us know your thoughts below!
