Manchester United goalkeeper set to stay at Old Trafford, long-term Spanish admirers no longer interested

de gea222The Manchester United supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern have been a happy bunch of late, ever since Jose Mourinho was appointed as the club’s new manager.

The daily speculation regarding incoming players to Old Trafford is equally exciting for those of a Manchester United persuasion and they cannot wait for next season to begin.

Our landlord has spotted some more good news for the Red Devils fans in today’s edition of Spanish newspaper Marca, which claims that goalkeeper David de Gea is no longer on the radar of La Liga giants Real Madrid.

The Spanish stopper has been a long-term target for Madrid although boss Zinedine Zidane is now committed to sticking with Costa Rican stopper Keylor Navas for the foreseeable future.

This news has delighted United supporters here in the Tavern and several of the supporters have cracked open a bottle of bubbly in celebration!

One Manchester United fan is sat with his pals enjoying the Euro 2016 coverage and he is delighted by this news, stating that de Gea was United’s best player of last season by a mile and also one of the three top keepers in the world.
