Manchester United have already prioritised January swoop

Strootman.jpgThe Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have witnessed a very, very busy transfer period at Old Trafford this summer.

But according to the Daily Mail, they will continue their spending when the window re-opens in January when they launch a bid for Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.

Strootman – amongst others – was linked with a move to the Red Devils all summer but a serious knee injury put pay to the 24-year old’s potential Premier League move.

Manchester United bosses are hoping that by January, the Netherlands international will have returned to full fitness and that is when they will make their move.

Six players – including Radamel Falcao and Angel Di Maria – arrived at Old Trafford this summer bring their spending up to an incredible £150 million in a single transfer window.

But many feel that the Red Devils missed out on signing a world class defender and a world class midfielder and Louis van Gaal’s side will no doubt strengthen those positions in the January sales.
