Manchester United fans cannot believe their ears today in the Football Transfer Tavern as our landlord tells them what he has just read in Manchester Evening News.
The publication seem to be under the impression that Cristiano Ronaldo will not rule out the possibility of returning to former club Manchester United – and that they still have a huge place in his heart.
Of course, with the two sides facing off during a pre-season fixture tonight, all the focus has been on the injured Ronaldo, who is desperate to be fit enough to face his former club, but looks like missing out.
When asked about potentially returning to Old Trafford one day, the Ballon d’Or holder claimed: “Of course, it was one of my favourite clubs, Manchester, everyone knows that every time when I speak about Real Madrid I should speak about Manchester United, I love it there.
“I was 18-years-old, I win everything there. The people treat me like a god there so I appreciate it and in the future nobody knows.”
As one of our punters notes, this is not the first time we have heard these claims from the forward – and one day United fans could well see him don the famous number seven shirt again.
