Manchester United hope to pull off major coup in summer

HiguainThe Manchester United supporters here in the Transfer Tavern are already anticipating next season and what that might bring, after a less than satisfactory 2015/16 campaign.

Ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been touted to take over the managerial duties from Louis van Gaal in time for next season, with talk among their passionate punters turning towards which players he may bring into the club.

Our landlord has some fascinating news for the United faithful and he appears from the cellar holding a copy of The Metro, who are claiming world class striker Gonzalo Higuain has already held talks with the Red Devils over a summer transfer.

A striker is high on the list of priorities for United and Higuain boasts a superb goalscoring record in both La Liga and Serie A.

One United fan is playing pool in the Tavern and thinks the signing of the Argentinean would instantly make United contenders for the title once more, but does concede that the club will need to ensure Champions League football before they can think about pulling off such a deal.

United fans, what do you make to this news? Are the club capable of signing Higuain?
