Festive beers are being raised in the Football Transfer Tavern after talkSPORT reported that Manchester United are closely monitoring the progress of highly rated Sporting Lisbon youngster Carlos Mane.
The 18-year-old has caught the eye playing for the club’s academy and as the Portuguese side claimed the NexLions Cup in Singapore earlier this month, Sporting even beat United’s great rivals Liverpool in the competition with Mane staring for his side.
Scouts from the top Premier League sides have already observed Mane in action and view him as the next big thing from the academy that made Cristiano Ronaldo among others.
The teenager is valued at around £8 million and he could represent value for money to Sir Alex Ferguson who is looking to rebuild his Red Devils side during the summer.
Brendan Rodgers is also reportedly keen on the talented youngster while Spurs and Chelsea are also scouting him as they seek the next Ronaldo.
