Manchester United fans are looking up with interest at the latest claim from Metro.
The publication seem to think that their manager could well be set to dip into the transfer market this winter.
The club have seen their title chances ebb away in recent weeks, and now it seems that new blood may be just what they need.
Manager David Moyes has struggled to replicate the success of previous manager Sir Alex Ferguson and fans have become more and more disconsolate.
Now the only summer signing of note, Marouane Fellaini has had surgery on his wrist and will be out of action for at least six weeks, meaning that Moyes is willing to spend some of his cash on a player to fill the void.
As one of our punters quips, given how invisible Fellaini has been in his Red Devils career to date, losing him for a month or so does not really seem like a massive deal.
The former Everton player cost the club a whopping £27.5 million, but at least they have not had to pay any of the performance related bonuses that may have been included in the contract!
The club are currently facing up to a growing injury list and that has not gone down well with fans who are starting to think this season is cursed.
Which central midfielder should David Moyes look to land this January? Let us know your thoughts below.
