It seems all about Manchester United today in the Football Transfer Tavern, and Metro seem to be continuing the theme.
The publication claim that the Red Devils may have switched their attentions when it comes to left backs.
The club have been heavily linked to Everton’s Leighton Baines ever since David Moyes defected from Goodison Park to the Red Devils.
However, now it seems that Moyes may finally be about to admit defeat in the chase.
The manager has struggled after succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson this season, not to mention also being faced with a rejuvenated Everton under Roberto Martinez.
As one of our punters quips, no wonder Baines would consider staying at Everton, given their chances of finishing above his suitors!
In case Baines snubs United once more, Moyes has decided to at least consider other options and has been looking closely at Porto left back Alex Sandro in recent weeks.
The Brazilian defender has impressed this season and at 22-years-old has his whole future ahead of him.
He is thought to be willing to make the move in January in order to further his career, and would jump at the chance of potentially being the successor to Patrice Evra at one of the biggest clubs in the world.
This is if, as one of our punters jokes, United still are considered such a side after another month or so with Moyes in charge!
Is Alex Sandro a pretty fine plan B should the Red Devils’ move for Baines ultimately fail? Let us know your thoughts below.
