Manchester United fans are scratching their heads in the Football Transfer Tavern after the Express revealed that Louis van Gaal faces a dilemma with Real Madrid declining Javier Hernandez a permanent move.
In reality, the plan was to loan him to Madrid, for them to ultimately purchase him but now that they’re not interested, United are unsure if they should offer him a new deal as they risk losing him on a free.
His current deal at Old Trafford expires in 2015 and without a deal in place the Red Devils could be left empty handed.
Although after his move to the Bernabeu he seemed to settle in quickly and he looked very comfortable playing in the first team.
Many saw it as a no brainer to extend his stay in Spain but recently he has struggled to get a sniff in the starting line up as Madrid broke a club record, for winning 16 consecutive games.
To add to United’s confusing situation, the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham are all interested in the Mexican striker.
