Fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are currently reading about a tug of war involving some of football’s biggest names.
According to talkSPORT, four of Europe’s biggest clubs are in pursuit of German international Christoph Kramer.
Reports suggest Liverpool, Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid are all interested in the 23-year-old defensive midfielder.
Kramer is currently on a two-year loan at Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach where he has been impressing immensely.
The youngster earned his seventh full international cap last night when he started in the 2-1 win against Gordon Strachan’s Scotland.
Yet it is believed that parent club Bayer Leverkusen are willing to listen to offers for the midfielder who has been at the club since 2008.
Premier League duo Liverpool and Manchester United have been long-term admirers of the midfielder having first made their interest known last January.
But they face huge competition now having been joined by La Liga giants Real Madrid and Serie A champions Juventus.
Louis van Gaal targeted a defensive midfielder all summer but left the summer shopping spree empty handed.
And it remains to be seen whether the Dutch manager will shore up his interest in the midfielder when the window re-opens in January.
