Manchester United issued firm come-and-get-me plea

Daley BlindManchester United fans are looking up with interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Metro claim Daley Blind could well be interested in a move away from Ajax and to Old Trafford.

The left full back knows manager Louis van Gaal well from their time in the Dutch national team and as one of our punters notes over a pint, they certainly link up well – and it seems that both parties could well be looking to repeat that partnership.

Blind was asked about a potential transfer and made no secret of just how much he would relish the move.

He claimed: “Of course, it’s flattering when you’re linked with clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona.

“It would be very hard to turn down these kind of clubs. But there’s no serious interest as of yet.”

Punters by the bar realise that this seems like a case of a clear come-and-get-me plea on Blind’s behalf.

He also added that he would not guarantee his future at current club Ajax, stating: “You can never make promises in football. When you make a promise, you have to stick to it.

“There are plenty of players who promise to stay and then leave after all. I am keeping my options open. I am very happy in Amsterdam and at Ajax, but you never know what could happen.”

Manchester United fans. What do you think of these comments? Are they part of something more serious or is it just part and parcel of the transfer window? Let us know your thoughts below.
