Metro have a claim today in the Football Transfer Tavern that has made Manchester United fans look more than a little bid downcast.
The publication claim that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be returning to Old Trafford anytime soon.
Speculation has been rife over the Portuguese forward’s future for much of the summer and indeed last season after the star man claimed that he was ‘unhappy’ at the club and neither Jose Mourinho or Florentino Perez were doing much to help.
Now new boss Carlo Ancelotti has come in and steadied the sinking ship and noted that Ronaldo will not be going anywhere.
Ancelotti lavished praise on the forward after the 6-0 friendly thrashing of AFC Bournemouth and claimed: “I think Ronaldo is the most important player in this team because he is the player with the best quality.
“I think we will help him every time to do his best because if he does that every time we have a great opportunity for this season.
“His future is at Real Madrid, there is no question about this.”
Not only did Ancelotti make the aforementioned claims about Ronaldo’s future but Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was also initiating the mind games with Manchester United manager David Moyes and admitted that he did not think Ronaldo would leave Madrid, claiming: “What I know is that Real Madrid is such a rich club they don’t need to sell and it is such a rich club I think they can eat any offer a club can have on Ronaldo.
“I know Ronaldo loves Manchester United and I know he loves the Premier League but I think he is going to stay. It’s just a feeling, no contact, nothing, just a feeling.”
Will Cristiano Ronaldo end his career with Real Madrid or will we see him back on these shores in the future? Let us know your thoughts below.
