Here in the Football Transfer Tavern it was hard not to be impressed with Alexis Sanchez’s performance for Chile last night.
The Barcelona attacker was undoubtedly the star of the show at Wembley as his two goals ended England’s ten match unbeaten run.
Now James Cambridge from the Daily Star has arrived in the bar with news of a potential Premier League switch for the exciting midfielder, who caused all sorts of problems for Roy Hodgson’s defence.
He reports that Manchester United are lining up a January move for Sanchez as Moyes looks to add further to his squad over the winter.
The former Everton manager is reportedly scouting the Chilean with a bid likely in the upcoming transfer window and after last night’s match winning display, United fans in the bar would truly love to the see the 24-year-old rock up at Old Trafford in the near future.
Sanchez is likely to be given an extended run in the Barca first team with Lionel Messi out for around eight weeks but his future could still be in doubt at the Camp Nou.
His reported £35 million transfer from Udinese in 2011 has mainly been a disappointment and that may see the La Liga champions cashing in with United ready to the raise the funds necessary.
The Red Devils could yet face competition from big spending Ligue 1 side’s Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain but Moyes is apparently confident in his pursuit of Sanchez and that has certainly set hearts racing in the tavern.
