There are some interesting reports emerging in the Football Transfer Tavern from today’s Metro who suggest that Manchester United are chasing Montepellier midfielder Remy Cabella with a view to a possible January swoop.
The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for the Ligue 1 side this term and has been long regarded as one of the most promising players in France.
A host of suitors have been watching the youngster, but United boss David Moyes has now reportedly come through at the front of the queue for his services.
The former Everton manager has already made clear that he wants to recruit at least two new signings in January and it is thought that a creative midfielder is what he is after.
As one punter points one, Cabella certainly fits the bill at Old Trafford and Moyes has now been in touch with his scouts to gain more information about the player with a bid of around £15 million possible.
The French outfit are well aware of the interest in Cabella and their president Louis Nicollin stated in the summer that it would take a crazy bid of at least £100 million to convince them to sell.
Cabella would offer versatility to United with the ability to play on either wing or behind the striker, and notably he has been compared with French legend Zinedine Zidane.
Is United’s interest in the French star genuine? Let us know your thoughts below.
