Manchester United line up £30m swoop for injury prone star?

Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)Manchester United fans are looking up at the bar to hear what our landlord has to say in the Football Transfer Tavern after reading the latest claim from Bild.

The highly-rated German publication seem to think that Manchester United are keen on making a move for Sami Khedira who currently represents both the German national side and Real Madrid.

As our regulars get more acquainted with the story they note that the midfielder would not come cheap.

He would cost around £30 million but would be a welcome addition to the Manchester United midfield which is currently lacking in terms of quality and consistency.

Louis van Gaal seems to mean business and as our regulars move back to the pool table carrying another round of drinks, things are looking up for the Old Trafford faithful after a simply dire season last term.

We also note that it does not seem to matter that United are missing out on Champions League football next term because the faith is there in the new manager to deliver it going forward.

Real Madrid may be willing to let Khedira leave given they managed without him for the majority of last season whilst the player was injured and have a wealth of reinforcements such as Asier Illarramendi and Casemiro to fill in.

Manchester United fans. Is £30 million a fair price for a player like Khedira given what he can bring to the club? Let us know your thoughts below.
