Monaco are becoming the team on everybody’s lips in the Football Transfer Tavern of late and once again they are linked with a big money move for a Premier League star as Mirror Football suggests that Manchester United left back Patrice Evra is the next to join the Stade Louis II revolution.
The French international is poised to leave Old Trafford after seven years of service to return to his native country and new manager David Moyes is understood to want to fetch England star Leighton Baines with him from Everton as he looks to make his mark on the squad he’ll take from legendary United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Evra, 32, only has two years left on his current deal at United and the Mirror reports that Moyes may look to sell him this summer in order to fund a move for the England international.
Monaco have already spent over £100 million on Atletico Madrid superstar Radamel Falcao, Porto midfielders James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho while today Chelsea captain John Terry has been linked with a move to the principality.
The French club are prepared to pay United £10 million to land Evra, an offer that the Old Trafford club are unlikely to reject.
