The Daily Express have Manchester United fans smiling in the Football Transfer Tavern as they report that the club are willing to sell one of their biggest flops.
Now, before the Red Devils get too excited, we have to inform them that whilst it may not be the English Xavi – Tom Cleverley – it comes pretty close.
Marouane Fellaini is reportedly being lined up for the exit door with Louis van Gaal not interested in working with the player who was of course brought in by predecessor David Moyes.
Not that we blame him of course with our punters noting that Moyes made a rather large error paying £27 million for a player who looked out of place from his very first day at the club – whilst his former side Everton thrived without him.
Of course, as our landlord points out, United and their board are not stupid – well anymore at least – and they know that they will have to take a massive loss on the player in order to ship him out of the club.
The Red Devils are reportedly looking for as little as £15 million to get the Belgian international off their books.
Would you pay £15 million for Fellaini? Should anyone take a gamble on him? Let us know your thoughts below.
