According to The Mirror, the Red Devils have signed Radamel Falcao on loan from Ligue 1 side Monaco after agreeing a fee.
It had looked like the striker was set to join Real Madrid after the 28-year-old posted a picture on Twitter describing his delight at the move – however Manchester United have seemingly beaten the La Liga giants to the deal.
It is believed that United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has paid the cash-rich side a whopping £12 million just for the season – as well as agreeing to pay the striker’s £200,000-a-week wages.
The deal comes as a huge coup for Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal who has struggled to bring a marquee signing to Old Trafford this summer since taking over from David Moyes.
But the Colombian’s arrival paves the way for Manchester United duo Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck to leave the club.
