Punters in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking up with interest as Metro make a shocking claim.
The publication note that Manchester United manager David Moyes is considering selling Robin van Persie at the end of the season.
United have not been doing well this season – an understatement according to some of our punters – and there have been more than a couple of rumours surrounding the fractious relationship between Moyes and RVP.
Training ground rows and outbursts after games have not exactly endeared the two individuals to one another and now it seems that former club Arsenal could well be in line to land van Persie.
The Dutchman has of course been linked with a move back to the Emirates Stadium on more than one occasion this season and given the excellent relationship between Arsene Wenger and the striker, it is not as unlikely as it once seemed.
As our landlord moves over from the bar to the pool table to have a chat with some of our punters, they note that whilst the relationship between RVP and his former manager is good, the Gunners fans are not as forgiving!
Is van Persie back to Arsenal set to be the major storyline of the summer or can’t you see this transfer happening? Let us know your thoughts below.
