Manchester United move step closer to signing Arsenal target

Hummels.jpgManchester United fans are feeling optimistic here in the Football Transfer Tavern, after hearing from the Daily Star that Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has fallen out with the German club’s fans.

The 26-year-old German International has long been linked with a move to Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United and Arsenal, however a move has never seemed to materialise.

The centre-back and his team were booed off the pitch in Dortmund’s 3-0 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Speaking after the match, Hummels said:  “I did not think the whistles were okay.

“It would have been okay at the end but not at half-time.”

Several Manchester United fans over by the dartboard inside the Football Transfer Tavern are getting excited about the news, and feel a defender of his calibre would be one piece in the puzzle to winning the Premier League title next season.

A solitary Borussia Dortmund fan in the Transfer Tavern munching on some peanuts admits it would be a shame to see Hummels leave, but feels it is inevitable he will leave the German club.

Manchester United fans… Would you be happy to see Mats Hummels join the Red Devils? Let us know your opinions and feelings in the comments below!
